Skirun

Privacy

There are no accounts on this site and we do not ask for e-mail addresses or anything else that identifies you. The only things shown publicly are the name and country you type yourself when you save a score.

We keep usage statistics with our own system: the pages you open, the buttons you press, how long you stay, where the visit came from (such as a link or campaign), the kind of device and browser, and the results of finished games, linked to a random id in a cookie of this browser. We never record what you type and we store IP addresses only as a hash. This is used to improve the games and the site.

Cookies used: the random player id, language, theme and the site's security cookies. No advertising and no data shared with outside services.

Unfinished games and settings are stored in your own browser; clearing the site data removes them.

The Skirun leaderboard: when you save a score, the name you type, the country you choose, the score and the date are shown publicly. A nickname is fine - please do not use your real name or contact details. If you do not save, the score is not shown anywhere.

To keep fake scores out we store each run's controls (which buttons and when - never what you type) so the server can replay and check it, together with the random player id and a hash of the IP address. The site's staff can hide unsuitable names; ask them if you want yours hidden.
